Welcome to WBIP. But what is it all about?
MEET THE FOUNDER
Amy McCann is an Australian Women's Baseball Team alumni having competed at six Women’s World Cups (2004-14) where she won dual World Cup medals, in addition to being named to two All-World Teams and Baseball Australia Player of the Year.
Still playing and coaching at club level in Melbourne, Amy hosts and produces the Women’s Baseball The Inside Pitch podcast and is a leading women’s baseball commentator.
Always looking for more ways to give back to the sport that has given her so much, Amy expanded WBIP from just a podcast in 2024, into a brand new home for women’s baseball.
So what is her why? And just how does an Aussie teenage girl in the 90s start playing baseball in the first place?
Connecting the Community
Yes, the official WBIP Podcast will continue to share the stories of women’s baseball’s elite players and coaches, in addition to a host of trailblazing women making their way in baseball all across the world.
But it will now feature a new blog, a new home aimed at connecting the women’s baseball community with more news and stories on their game.
While there will be a particular focus on Australian baseball, it will continue to touch base with women’s baseball communities worldwide.
Merch with a Mission
But WBIP is more than just content, with a new range of merch featuring the official WBIP logo and the WMNS BSBLL design which you can get on our signature range of t-shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, bags, shoe charms and more.
But why the merch?
Like the podcast and blog, the merch aims to connect the community through a shared identity.
But also as women’s baseball is one of the many sports where women self-fund their passion, WBIP is proud to be contributing a percentage of the profits from sales straight back into women’s baseball.
Whether it's the WBIP signature range, or specialty and limited edition items, you'll be supporting women’s baseball with every purchase.
These will be reinvested into the sport through initiatives that support our game, such as player and team sponsorships, development clinics, and more.
We will see where this journey takes us!
